About Technorati

I have mentioned the importance of Technorati as a traffic determinant. I realize, however, that I haven’t really discussed much about it. So for the my next several posts we’ll be focusing on Technorati.

Technorati is a blog search engine – that is, an Internet Search engine that specializes in searching blog contents. It started with a very simple blogsearch but has since grown into one giant blog site that features an RSS/Reader (Technorati Favorites), Blog trends watcher (Technorati WTF – “Where’s the Fire”), and a has paved way to web-content annotation through the famous technorati tags. Technorati also allows blog authors to “claim” their blogs – to technically declare that they are the real and genuine owners of their respective blogs. Technorati has also popularized the Technorati rank – a quantification of how popular your blog is based on the other blogs that link back to your content. This ranks has proven to be a very strong determinant of the amount of traffic that your blog will have.Technorati. Technorati also lets you add watch to the “blog world” if you want to track specific posts about a particular topic (or events, or person – yourself for example).
