Being Realistic About In-house SEO

Ok. So we have raised some pretty good points about professional SEO and In-house SEO. If you do decide on going for the In-house SEO and you know that you lack experience I have a simple word of advice for you.

BE REALISTIC.

This is not to discourage you but to make sure your efforts are not wasted. In being realistic I mean that you should:

• Do a lot of research about SEO before committing to anything.
• Take stock of your abilities and see if you really can learn how to SEO your website.
• Make sure you set enough time in your timetable for the learning phase AND debugging phase.
• Map out your game plan step by step. Don’t try to simply wing it especially if there’s a lot riding on your website’s success.
• Expect to make mistakes. Get help in forums and other online resources if you can.
• Set money to pay for consulting services if you know you need it. It is a good idea to pay for consulting services at the very start and not only after you’re stumped.
