Determining The Right Keywords For Your Blog
In deciding to use the keywords as part of your SEO efforts, you are taking a right turn. No matter how you look at it, keywords are an important part of attracting new readers to your blog. Again, I would just like to emphasize that although keywords are important, they are by no means the end all be all of SEO.
That being said, I would also like to emphasize the importance of using the right keywords. You can’t very well be using whatever word you wish. Well, actually you can but that would probably not do you any good. What I am trying to say is that even before you start using keywords, you have to determine the right ones for your blog.
If you are maintaining a niche blog, you have a clearer idea as to what keywords to use. You simply have to begin with the topic that you are already focusing on. And since your blog is a niche blog, you would have one specific subject which you deal with in all of your posts. On the other hand, if you are working on a blog which does not have a single topic, then you would have to choose several key areas which you want to optimize and focus on for your keywords.
Now, how do you go about choosing the keywords for these topics? As I mentioned in the last post, you can use the various tools out there to help you find the keywords. My additional tip for this post is this: be as specific as possible.
For example, you are blogging about cross-cultural relationships. Off the top of your head, you might want to use “relationship” or “marriage” as keywords. However, that would not really be targeting the audience that you want for your blog. Better words to use would be “cross-cultural marriage” or “interracial relationships.” Get the idea?
