Google Mobile Sitemaps

Last post we talked about making sure that your mobile website places well in Google Mobile’s SERPs. I mentioned that the first thing you need to do is to make sure that your mobile website uses either of the three mobile formats so that mobile devices will be able to render your website properly. Next I mentioned that you should submit you website to Google Mobile and submit a mobile sitemap.

You can create a mobile sitemap manually or more easily, by using Google’s Sitemap Generator. If you want to use another sitemap generator then make sure that it filters the URLs in your website so that it will only come up with a list of URLs with mobile content.

Armed with your mobile sitemap you can then add your site and your sitemap by signing up with your Google Account via the Google Webmasters Tools.
