Keyword Analyzer – Sample Search String
Like I told you I’ll be giving a concrete example on how keyword finders can help you choose really good keywords for your website.
As an example let’s tackle possible keywords for a Parenting Blog. An obvious choice for a keyword in such a blog would be parenting blog. But do you know that according to a specific keyword analyzer that term is not a very good keyword. Why? Since the total number of searches done on some really good search engines indicate that there has only been 2 searches using that specific search string and there are approximately 92945 competing websites with that as keyword. Typing in the search string in Yahoo Search also yields 1.3 million results while typing it in Google gives 16million results! Now if that isn’t stiff competition, I don’t know what you would consider as one.
Now a good idea would be to use that very generic and highly competitive keyword BUT use more specific keywords. For example if you want to tackle single parenting you can use the keyword “Parents without Partners” instead of just plain “Single Parents”. Mind you I didn’t come up with those keywords on my own the keyword analyzer I used suggested it to me. The term “single parents” has around 338 searches but has 605,977 competitors while the term “parents without partners” has 137 searches with only 23,712 competitors. As you see the number of competitors is important but what’s more important is that keyword analyzers will help you think of new keywords you otherwise wouldn’t have thought of yourself. And of course those keywords they suggest are those that have a high demand too.
