Introduction to Bloglines

If you’ve noticed we’ve been discussing the factors that best predict traffic in your blog. We started with the Technorati Link last month, discussed the SEOmoz page strength, and also touched on links. This time we’ll be discussing Bloglines.

Those who use Bloglines might find it very useful but are probably not aware that by using it they are also increasing their chances of generating more traffic for their own blogs. Bloglines is feature rich but most people use it as a blog aggregator, which is after all is its main feature. What people don’t realize is that by using it you also help market your own blog due to some of its features like its blog publishing and social sharing tools, quick subscriptions for new users (your blog can be on the list), personalized recommendations to find new subscriptions (again your blog can be on the list), and the most popular lists that show the day’s hot topics and which blogs are getting the most noticed (although these blogs probably don’t need any more new traffic).

In short, what people don’t realize is that Bloglines is good but subtle SEO for your blog.
